Team Pwnage members,
Welcome to the new 2017 Team Pwnage. This year we hope to grow and restructure our community. In doing this we hope to help better everyone and their experience in Team Pwnage. The idea is to help bring everyone in this community together in various ways. It is important that we have as much support from our members as possible to achieve such a goal. Even though many of us have individual goals it is you that decided to join a community. With joining a community comes a level of responsibility to be involved in community events, activities and being supportive.
What will 2017 bring? 2017 will bring a increase and more frequent community nights and streaming charity events. Reach member is expected to attend and or participate in these events from time to time. There are various ways to participate so you will have to contact your community leader and charity coordinator to learn how! This is your responsibility to step up to the plate and pull your weight as a member of this community. Our community leaders or leaders of the respective console (PSN, XBL, PC) will keep tabs of active and non members. Failure to participate will result in a warning of activity. If a member is inactive without reason they may be subject to removal of our community. We are only as strong as our weakest link. We must maintain #TPwnStrong!!!
In order to maintain a strong presence in the gaming community we must have a sense of #TPwnPride. The hashtag #BleedOrange must hold more true this year then ever before! The best way to remain consistent with this is for ALL our members to Rep Team Pwnage the same way. Starting in 2017 it is now MANDATORY for our members to have [TPwn] in their names on Twitter and “Member of @TeamPwnage” or “Streamer of @TeamPwnage” in their bio. We understand that some names may be too long to do this. We suggest shorting your current name to do so. For some members that have their own individual sponsorships or other information in their bio and can’t fit that, we can put that into consideration. Please contact Pr0jecT HaTTa regarding your bio space, but [TPwn] in your name is not negotiable.
2017 we are bringing back a active #TPwnLive Twitch Channel with a rotation of Streamers on our channel. Days and hours are flexible for volunteers that are willing to participate. We will be assigning a Stream manager for the community to help with scheduling, tweeting and making sure everyone has our TPwn Stream Team banner present in their Twitch Channel. Stream Team manager will also work with the Charity coordinator when charity events are approaching to ensure we have a successful charity event.
For the first time in Team Pwnage history in 2017 we will now be open to the idea of a Team Pwnage eSports team! Let me explain, for many years I have had many teams approach me to join as a eSports team or for me to sell Team Pwnage for branding purposes. It was not just the logo or sponsors they were interested in. They were interested in the community we have built that was more important and valuable to them. I never entertained the idea to sell out, the answer was always NO! This year for the first time I will be looking into possibly picking up or building a eSports team. This idea is just a idea that I am publicly announcing to our community only. There is a very good chance that nothing will come of this or that it won’t come till light for another year or more. But for the first time this is something I will be open to do. Of course this will be done with extreme caution and will not be rushed. There are many moving pieces in this and each one needs to be looked at carefully.
What will a eSports team team mean for you in a casual gaming community and stream team? Hopefully nothing, in the event that this will happen it will be kept completely separate from our community as a whole. Different Twitter account, different Discord and different rules. There are many long term benefits that can be beneficial for us as a whole by obtaining a eSports team. Exposure for one is something that can provide us different sponsors, more followers, more views on our channels etc.
The long term goal here is to grow to level where everyone knows our name. All while maintaining what you all love about this community without sacrificing who we are. Since the beginning of Team Pwnage we have been real casual without making anything mandatory. This will change for 2017! We have members that work hard to put Team Pwnage name out in the community. Best way to reward this is to have all our members work and represent this community the same way. We are in a community so lets do community things all while being proud to represent and being active. It’s time to #BleedOrange, we can all do this in different ways. Some more then others but we MUST make our presence known in order to stay part of Team Pwnage. We have lost members in the past because they felt other members did not old their weight. That changes in 2017, we will not lose active members because other members are not active and not participating in a way to better our community. If there are things going on in your personal life such : school, family issues, health, change in work schedule etc we need to know right away and we can discuss that going forward.
I asked you all on Twitter recently if you were all with me. This is where you show and prove, this is for the greater good of the community. Together we will show the gaming community how we are strong and how we will make a difference in defining what Team Pwnage means! I ask you all not to only stand with me but to stand with each other in making Team Pwnage Great!
